Morning Drafter,
When you hear the names:
Hannibal Lecter
Lex Luthor
Joker
Darth Vader
Cruella de Vil
What comes to mind?
Is it their heinous deeds?
The things they did?
The way they tortured the hero?
For some, what is most memorable is it might be the funny sayings or iconic one-liners they delivered.
As people who love stories, a hero is nothing without the villain, and a strong villain knows who they are and what they want to accomplish.
They can bend reality to their will and throw caution to the wind.
What do these “villains” have in common?
They were all the heroes of their own stories.
These fine individuals knew who they were and refused to change for anyone or anything. What makes the best villains aren’t their unwillingness to be evil. They can do what they want and make life attempt to bend to their will.
In reality - they are freethinkers.
Have you ever thought-maybe I’m the villain in someone else’s story?
You exist, have your job, or are with your loving partner. Someone, somewhere out there, might want precisely what you have and will do whatever it takes to make remove you from the situation.
I don’t mean to throw off the paranoia alarm.
Here’s a plan of action today.
Commit to your plan of action with 100% certainty that it works out in your favor.
Have a Lex Luthor'-esque level of thinking about your plans.
Assume everything is going according to the “PLAN” and hold in your mind the primary outcome of what you want from life.
Accept nothing less.
Instead of life kicking you in the ass, become a nightmare to life.
You are the story you tell yourself.
I always found that villains always have the highest self-esteem.
At least one's society holds in the highest regard evil villainy.
Your Friend,
Jordan Baylor
