Washboard abs made me think.
I always wanted to be fit.
Like super in shape.
Like one of those guys who can’t count over the number 8 due to the number of abs he has.
THIS GUY
Ever since this quarantine, my mind has tricked my brain into reverting back to my old habits. My habits of not pursuing health and fitness like a hellcat.
Before the quarantine, I went to the gym 4 times a week.
I started a new job and put the job over my fitness by not working out, just focusing on getting good at my job.
Week 3 into the quarantine and my fitness cardio are low.
Let’s be honest it is trash at this point.
So I got tired of feeling sluggish, and I decided I’m going to do (25 burpees) 4x times a day.
That’s 100 burpees a day ( ya boi can do that math)
I did 25 burpees one time.
Just once, and I was winded.
My back ached, my knees clicked, and my body was covered in sweat.
I didn’t know I was THIS out of shape.
The reality hit me in the stomach like a wet towel.
I dried off in sweat and while listening to an audiobook for The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace Wattles, I heard the quote:
There is abundance of opportunity for the man who will go with the tide, instead of trying to swim against it. - Wallace D. Wattles
What I did from then on was realizing that I was depleting my opportunity.
The opportunity was life.
I was leaving meat on the bone, I wasn’t scrapping until I reached the marrow.
I wasn’t taking advantage of the precious gift I was given.
I was squandering it and that was not only unforgivable but was just a waste of potential. Sure I may have flourished in other aspects, but health should always top everything.
That includes money too.
So every day I have made a promise to do 25 burpees a day with the habitual habit of doing 100 burpees a day in my mind.
What is a fitness habit you can set during this time at home? I want to hear you have no time either because I bet you watched ‘Tiger King’ on Netflix!
Let’s get it!
Scrape the meat off the bone of TODAY and set your fitness priority goal.
Seriously.
Your body & mind will thank you.
Talk to you tomorrow.
Best,
