Morning Drafters,
Marketing is used to elicit an effect or emotion or make you take action.
With that knowledge and smartphones being in the hands of millions of people today.
We are learning that people know how to push other people's buttons.
With words, actions, or interviews.
Some people are pissing off the world, and they do it because it brings them money, clout, and attention.
The best way to handle these thirsty individuals.
Cut off the drinking well.
Dry it up.
Pay it no attention, and you starve them for what they crave the most.
Energy, time, and attention.
It doesn't matter if you give them a 'piece of your mind.'
Who cares?
It will not change their opinion in the slightest.
You feel how you feel.
The older I get, the more I realize people feel the way they think, and it isn't until they experience it first-hand that they change.
Look at Dick Cheney, a man who passionately detested gay people during his lifetime.
He supported any extreme gay bill that oppressed or stripped gays of their rights.
That was until his daughter came out as gay.
Then the change came.
Dick became an advocate for gay rights, bills and issues.
What do you think happened?
Do you think he read a bunch of gay pamphlets and became a better person?
Do you think it was a religious experience that turned his mind around? Made him love his neighbor as his own.
Do you think he watched a bunch of gay-themed docs and understood and empathized with their plights?
Hell no.
It was his daughter being gay.
The first-hand experience hit his home and made him change his views.
He was a stubborn man who believed what he believed; words would not change that for him.
What Dick did in his later years became one of the driving forces on the republican side for the Gay marriage act being passed in the 2010s.
It's sad, but some people won't respect a race or sexual orientation until a family member or close friend falls in love with a Mexican gay man.
It's not my problem to educate them; neither is yours.
Save your energy for yourself.
Dummies are going to be dumb.
The internet is loud and thrives off the emotions of others.
Don't get caught in the noise sarcophagus - screaming to be heard.
Ignore the loud world.
Be selfish AF and listen to yourself, focus on yourself and loud ones.
When people say stupid shit, agree and walk away.
The only people who can push your buttons should live under your roof.
Anything else is straight noise that should be drowned out with a pair of Bose headphones.
Best,
Jordan Baylor
P.S.
People will find out soon enough that the internet is not real.
