The two evil geniuses Simon Pegg & Nick Frost, who brought cult us classics ( Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and The World’s End), have sold their horror pitch Svalta to Orion Pictures.
The story follows a family on their summer vacation to a remote Swedish island where they discover a serial killer is on the loose, but the locals have no interest in helping the stranded family of tourists.
Pegg, Frost and Miles Ketley’s Stolen Picture will produce for Orion, while Frost is writing the screenplay with Stolen Picture creative directors James Serafinowicz and Nat Saunders.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Pegg and Frost partnership, which began in 1999 when the pair met on the set of the UK sitcom Spaced.
Expect the film to arrive in theaters sometime in 2020.
