Shake-Up @ ‘Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj’
Word on the street is that there is a shake up is taking place behind the scene of the Netflix weekly talk series ‘Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj’. The talk is that headwriter Jim Margolis will be stepping down as showrunner and former The Daily Show executive producer Steve Bodow will step into his shoes. Margolis will depart his post this summer after production wraps on the show’s current third cycle of episodes.
Minhaj and Bodow each departed The Daily Show with Trevor Noah within a few months of each other in 2018-2019 having worked closely together on the program for four years. The writing world of political humor is so niche as well as tight knit, that it seems there’s only a few writers to go around. Never fear though, if political humor is your bailiwick don’t fret because just in case you needed a reminder, the NBC ‘Writers on the Verge” cut off date is this FRIDAY, so go, prep your specs and hit that submit button. Good luck, everyone!
‘Annabelle Comes Home’ with Dauberman
Gary Dauberman, THE horror genius behind the first two Annabelle movies, The Nun and It: Chapter 2, will be making his directorial debut with ‘Annabelle Comes Home’. The New Line Cinema has scheduled a June 26th release and with the success of the Annabelle films, the franchise is all dolled-up for its third installment.
The official ‘Annabelle Comes Home’ synopsis: Determined to keep Annabelle from wreaking more havoc, demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren bring the possessed doll to the locked artifacts room in their home, placing her ‘safely’ behind sacred glass and enlisting a priest’s holy blessing. But an unholy night of horror awaits as Annabelle awakens the evil spirits in the room, who all set their sights on a new target — the Warrens’ 10-year-old daughter, Judy, and her friends.

Personally, if I were in the movie, it’d definitely be a short film because as soon as things started moving, I’m running out the front door, or jumping out the nearest wall.
Ghost: *Jump Scare*
ME: Hey Annabelle, the deed to the home is on the kitchen table! LOL!
