Possible Second Chance for Whiskey Cavalier
Across the networks last week was ‘cancellation apocalypse’ and in its wake it left ABC’s Warner Bros. Whiskey Cavalier as one of its casualties. According to many the action drama from show runner Bill Lawrence (Scrubs) is getting a serious second look by ABC. The Scott Foley and Lauren Cohan action dramedy may get a second breath at the network. In recent memory the only major network to reverse their cancellation was NBC’s Timeless, the time traveling series which lasted 3 seasons before having its series finale.
Welcome back, Whiskey Cavalier!!?????
Amazon & ‘Damages' Co-Creator Glenn Kessler Ink Overall Pact
Damages and Bloodline co-creator Glenn Kessler has signed an overall deal for TV and film with Amazon Studios. Under the pact, the Emmy-nominated writer-producer will create, develop and produce original series and films to premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime Video worldwide in more than 200 countries.
The deal is for Kessler’s first solo pact, and does not include former Damages and Bloodline co-creators and former collaborators Daniel Zelman and Todd A. Kessler.
The duo, sources say, wanted to explore other opportunities.
"Glenn is an incredible storyteller with a gift for creating provocative, powerful dramas,” said Albert Cheng, COO and co-head of television at Amazon Studios. “We can’t wait for our Amazon Prime Video customers around the world to see what Glenn will create.”
The overall deals market continues to be competitive as broadcast, cable and streaming platforms alike seek to beef up their original content.

‘Between Two Ferns: The Movie’ and I’m Not Kidding!!!
It’s official, Netflix and Zach Galifianakis have gone bonkers as they prep the official Between Two Ferns: The Movie, and it’s due date is September 20th.
The premise: Galifianakis always dreamed of becoming a star, but when Will Ferrell discovers his public access TV show Between Two Ferns and uploads it to Funny Or Die, Zach becomes a viral laughing stock. To prove to the world (and to himself) that Zach is not a joke, he and his crew are take a road trip to complete a series of high-profile celebrity interviews to restore his reputation.
Film is written and directed by Scott Aukerman with Galifianakis, and produced by Funny or Die, and the billing assures that it is “featuring celebrities you’ve heard of.” Specific names have yet to be revealed.
I’m still wondering if Zach is still recovering from that burn Barack O. hit him with during their interview!
I will be waiting with baited breath to see what Zach does between 2 ferns, again!!
