Clarity can move mountains.
When you have clarity in your vision, it can give you a laser-like focus.
I always think of the changes John F. Kennedy was able to do within the short time he was on Earth.
Dude literally changed the world and dippedā¦(not by his own choosing, but we are still reaping the benefits of his vision)
āFirst, I believe that this nation should commit itself to achieving the goal, before this decade is out, of landing a man on the moon and returning him safely to the Earth. ā
- John F. Kennedy
A simple vision was stated by Kennedy on May 25th, 1961.
Extremely hard to execute.
In less than a decade July 20th, 1969 man set foot on the moon.
Think if we can send a man to the moon in less than 8 years.
Iām sure your goals would pale in comparison.
Turn big goals into small wins.
I like to minimize goals and break them down to a digestible size, so they donāt feel so daunting and unattainable.
Kennedy didnāt know enough to accomplish this goal.
Kennedy knew when he had that vision he had to use the presidential resources he had, to get others to buy into his vision.
Goals donāt require you to know EVERYTHING.
He just knew enough to state his goal simply.
From there it was words that Kennedy used to fire up a nation to pull thoughts, notions, actions together because we were going to the goddamn moon and coming back, safely!
Translation for the people: Weāre Americans we always come through, and we always win.
Kennedy was absolutely brilliant for this one.
I strive to live life with the same level of clarity.
Goals and a lifestyle you want are not as hard as to attain if you clarify your vision.
A quote from the bible (*note whether you believe in God or not this quote single-handedly slaps harder than any abusive stepfather ever could)
That quote from Habakkuk 2:2 states āWrite the vision And make it plain.ā
Thatās it.
Once you write your vision.
The road will unfold for you.
Write your vision.
Do you want to be a āwriterā?
Donāt say just that.
Donāt leave it at that. Thatās bland. Thatās empty.
If you want to be a writer? Go to the kitchen, look in the fridge, see whatās missing and write a grocery list.
BOOM
Youāre a writer.
āBut, Jordan thatās not what I meant.ā
How was I supposed to know what you meant? Thereās no clarity in the vision.
Be specific.
āI want to be a sci-fi writer who writes series, and novels like Star-Trek, Andromeda, Stargate SG-1ā
Now thereās a lot of clarity in the vision.
You can tell that person they should probably study scripts from those shows, follow a few sci-fi tv showrunners on social media, and network with ālow on the totem poleā writers that write for the shows you admire.
Start a blog or YouTube channel where you dissect the storylines, and state how they wouldāve written those scenes better.
All those ideas popped in my head because I knew where I wanted to go.
I wanted to head toward my Moon landing.
A writtenĀ visionĀ gives you the correct directions and coordinates you need to follow to get to your desired destination. It gives you the inspiration and motivation you need to push through life's toughest challenges.
The VisionĀ must be madeĀ plain.
Write your life goal. Distill your accomplishments into a sentence.
After that read it and write it every day.
Drill it into your bones.
Then see if your daily actions are driving you towards your destination.
Are you headed to the moon or a dusty ass trailer park?
The choice is yours.
Kennedy inspired the nation to get to the moon in 8 years.
What can you accomplish within 8 years?
