✍🏿 Jesus Quintana, Bigger Than the Big Lebowski
Get ready everyone, John Turturro has been hard at work on a spinoff of The Big Lebowski based on his exhaustible and annoying character, Jesus Quintana. The standout character who was only in the film less than 10 minutes, is getting his stand alone film titled, Going Places.
Jesus’ character came onscreen for a few minutes dropped off life gems, and DIPPED.
The Turturro’s Big Lebowski spin-off film is just about complete. As he explained to The Independent, the editing process took a lot longer than he anticipated, but he’s finally settled on a cut of the film that meets his standards.
The plot synopsis:
“It shows how stupid men are. It’s basically an exploration of Jesus getting out of jail [after being framed as a pedophile]. It’s a comedy but a very human comedy.”
“It’s a bit of a racy movie,” Turturro elaborated in an interview with The Independent.
Turturro made Going Places with the full support of Big Lebowski directors Joel and Ethan Coen.
Expect for this one to roll into the theaters late 2019.

✍🏼The Rashomon Effect on Netflix
Written and directed by Daniel Barnz, Prism is inspired by Rashomon, the 1950 Japanese period psychological thriller which was directed by Akira Kurosawa. Prism, is being produced from Daniel and Ben Barnz’s 'We’re Not Brothers Productions, Carol Mendelsohn and Julie Weitz.
Prism can be described as a provocative exploration of a murder trial in which each episode is told through the perspective of a different key person involved.
Each new version of the facts ratchets up the mystery and the suspense, calling into question everything we have seen so far and asking is the right person on trial?
Driven by an ensemble of complicated characters, the show lets the audience ask if truth matters less than who can tell the most compelling story.
The series has a strong cast which includes Billions’ actress Malin Ackerman, Ramon Rodriguez, Mykelti Williamson, Chloe Wepper, David Alpay, Brooke Smith, Sara Rue, Joe Tippett and Alex Neustaedter.
Kurosawa’s Rashomon was one of the first films to ever employ the use of a plot device that became known as the Rashomon Effect, which involves various characters providing contradictory interpretations of the same incident.
It toyed with narrative and the ability to not have a narrator or hero who has a perspective you can’t trust.
If you haven’t, do yourself a favor and see the 1950 masterpiece that is Akira Kurosawa’s ‘Rashomon’.
