Hey friend,
This Super Bowl weekend, I reconnected with an old friend of mine. He's a guy whose name I'll keep to myself, but let me tell you, he's incredibly talented.
This man can act, write, and do vocal impersonations like no one else.
He's brimming with some of the most fascinating ideas I've ever encountered. I've witnessed him do things that would utterly astonish you—a true Renaissance genius in every sense of the word.
Yet, he doesn't see it.
So, let me ask you, what's your relationship with yourself like?
It is the most crucial relationship you'll ever have. If your self-view is poor, if you don't hold yourself in high regard, life will mirror those thoughts back at you. It's a harsh truth, but we tend to treat people who think highly of themselves better than those who don't. It's an unspoken rule of life, but it's undeniably present.
So, how can you turn it around? What steps can you take to mend your relationship with yourself?
It all starts with "trust." Do you trust yourself to follow through, both on the big things and the small ones?
Trust is the foundation of self-confidence.
If you find it hard to trust yourself with the big stuff, start with the small. Acknowledge the things you do trust yourself to do:
I TRUST you'll go to the restroom today.
I TRUST you'll brush your teeth today.
I TRUST you'll chew your food today.
Give yourself credit for these 'small' wins, which would be monumental achievements for someone in different circumstances.
Make a list of the little things you take for granted and pat yourself on the back for them.
Take a moment to appreciate just how fucking awesome you are, how far you've come, and where you're headed.
To my genius friend, I hope you tap into your greatness and silence that inner critic. You're far too remarkable to listen to that little fucker.
To your winning best,
Jordan Baylor
