How To Write a Better to Do List to Simplify your Productivity
Okay, I admit it…
From time to time I used to have paralysis concerning all of the things that I had to do.
As I would check items off of my to-do list, I’m would constantly wonder… Was I really getting anywhere? Or was I doing a whole lotta nothing?
These were the questions that bounced around in my head like a pinball… which seemed to add EVEN MORE to my to-do-list…
Do you see this vicious cycle in your daily to-do list life??
Life can become a sea of monotony…or so it can feel that.
But guess what???
I have found ‘the antidote’ to break from the rut of your “to-do” list tango, along with all of its mind draining tasks!!!
To begin: Set a clear intention of completing one goal. Just one task, that IF you accomplished that one task, it would make your day a complete success.
It might be mailing out an application for some scholarship you are applying for, contacting the credit bureau about errors on your credit report, calling someone that has been on your mind but you’ve fallen out of contact with, etc.
Then, celebrate it!!!
Like actually take time to pat yourself on the back for getting that task done.
It will one of two things.
First, it will make you feel good.
Secondly, it will reward your momentum for completing an important task.
It took a long time before I eventually realized the reason that I was felt like I wasn’t getting enough completed (even when I was accomplishing big tasks) was because I was not giving myself permission to acknowledge ‘a win’ in my head. So, even while completing huge lists of things on a daily basis… come the end of the day, everyday, I was still berating myself with the same old “man, I didn’t get anything done” even if I’m was able to objectively point at a list of tasks I’d completed:(
I don’t know if that’s ever happened to you.
IF it has, I would suggest that you lighten up on yourself.
Rome wasn’t built in a day.
Choose the important and always acknowledge your wins.
Talk to you tomorrow…
Best,
