“I created this image, this thing that you could imagine. You could love him or hate him, but he was ‘PRIMETIME!!’’
Who was ‘PRIMETIME’ you ask???
Arguably was the most athletic entity in sports history.
From a marketing standpoint Deion Sanders aka ‘PRIMETIME’, was able to pull off one of the most successful self-promoting marketing campaigns.
Sorely, his campaign was stopped by people in power positions who placed blocks on him because they didn’t understand what they were witnessing greatness.
At the height of PRIMETIME’s career, Deion Sanders was signed to and played for both the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta Braves simultaneously.
The only thing that stopped him was a clause that was enforced, along with a baseball team manager that felt Deion “should be humbled” and benched him which ended up costing the Braves’ the game.
If you haven’t had the pleasure of watching Deion Sanders’ Hall of Fame football induction speech, please set time aside to give it a view.

Bullet points of Deion’s why, keep reading:
What drove him to be great, you might ask? What was his why, you might ask?
According to Deion, a friend of his witnessed his mother pushing a janitorial cart at the hospital and brutally roasted him…
and he roasted him in front of the entire school!!!
The shame he felt…
That very shame, he internalized it, came out on the other side if it and created magic from his pain with it!
He vowed like an evil villain in a every superhero movie “to return and exact vengeance upon the world.”
He said he simply promised…
“I don’t care what it takes. My momma will never work another day of her life. ”
Primetime’s goal was Windex clear.
“My momma will never work another day of her life.”
That was Deion’s WHY! That was Deion’s reason for working as hard as he did.
Pushing himself beyond the limits of his physical capabilities.
I grew up loving Deion Sanders.
(*Let me clarify, I was never a Cowboy’s fan, but I liked his ability to create magical moments)
After hearing the reason behind Deion’s why my eyes were opened.
I realized that he hardened himself to become that icon known as ‘Primetime!’
He was normal but he took ‘leveling up’ to another dimension.
He went within himself and came out on the other side; faster, stronger… more evolved.
Lately, have you asked yourself what is your “why?”
Yeah, you want to accomplish things in life, check stuff off your bucket list, but WHY?
Who’s it for?
Is it for your legacy?
That’s too vain. No one cares.
Is it to show your boss that he was wrong when he fired you?
That’s too petty. When the going gets tough the tough get going, but you won’t care.
Is it for your kids?… Do you work hard to show your kids that you love them? Do you suffer now, so your kids won’t have to suffer financially later?
That’s a powerful ‘why?’
My challenge for you today is to realize that we get in ruts but to crystalize your vision.
We know the actions that would push us towards success, yet we still don’t inch any closer to our goal.
Your/Our WHY should push us to burn the candles at both ends
(if that’s what the goal calls for)
Our why should set our soul on fire and we should feel the energy racing through our veins as you run towards life.
Figuring out your ‘why?’ in life is paramount for success. It’s simple, just ask yourself what is my reason for pursuing the things you are after.
Jot down your reasons why… and when life gets rough on your path…
Refer to ‘why’ you’re pushing.
It’s time to hardened yourself.
