Grand Rising,
I had a chance to watch the comedy set Aziz Ansari: Nightclub Comedian, a short 30-minute special. The comedy, for the most part, was pretty tame, nothing too groundbreaking or controversial.
Azizās new direction is not as loud and obnoxious as he used to beā¦.I guess that comes with growth.
In the special, he spoke about C-19, specifically the biggest battle of the past 3 years now we got Team Vaxxed and Team Unvaxxed.
Each team has their own captain.
Team Vaxxed has Fauci.
Team Unvaxxed has Joe Rogan.
(I personally preferred it when America was fighting over Team Jacob or Team Edward)
Aziz brought up a great point where he says āYou already know exactly what someone is going to say before they begin speaking. You know their talking points, what they are going to quote whether they are for the vaccine or not.ā (or something to that effect)
The reason I took light to that I can see how these days most of our current thoughts arenāt actually ours anymore. Set your opinion on the vax and unvaxxed aside for a minute.
For most topics, there tend to be two opinions - EITHER FOR IT or AGAINST IT. As if every issue was a football game, and we want OUR team to win.
You are either for Trans rights - against it - or you donāt bet.
You are either for Black rights - against it - or you donāt have a dog in the fight.
You are either for Animal rights - against it - or you donāt know anyone personally who is a cow, so you donāt care.
While we use social media to chop each other down, we jump on either side of the table to argue and the news plays the moderation. It is totally bonkers.
The only one who comes out on top is The Gossip Blogs, because they get the CONTENT they need.
Iām not saying that they are right, and you are wrong, or vice versa.
What I am saying is who is making money off of all of us arguing?
Why do they want us to be in constant battle?
Why must everything be a fricking talking point?
Personally, I think itās about the content, our to see something new on our feed. To constantly stand out, and go viral for othersā enjoyment and our financial gain.
Clout is one hell of a drug in 2022.
What are your thoughts?ā¦ Are they even yours or did you get them from a YouTube video?
Keep creating. Keep thinking,
Jordan Baylor
