✍🏼 Writer’s Quotes to Live By
“Animation is about creating the illusion of life. And you can't create it if you don't have one. And it's not only films, I'm pretty unaware of anything that's going on in popular culture right now. I got my heroes secondhand, from television and movies, to a certain extent.
– Brad Bird
✍🏼Pinhead: Headed Back to the Silver Screen
The day of the reboot is continued as word has broken that a Hellraiser remake was on the way from David S. Goyer. We honestly haven’t gotten a decent script from Pinhead and the Hellraiser films since the second entry, but that’s another story.
No word on whether it will be an anthology series, or mythology, just that we’ll be getting our Hellraiser fix shortly. The series hasn’t even been set up at a network or streaming company yet, but It producer Roy Lee and Ready Player One producer Dan Farah have boarded it to see the light of day.
We’ll keep you updated as this develops.
✍🏼Ratatouille
If you’ve ever had the opportunity to read the Ratatouille screenplay by Brad Bird, then you’ll know how well the script translated to the big screen. Ratatouille is one of Pixar’s best films, as well as an extremely ambitious idea.
Think of the pitch (*Picture this…a film about a cooking rat?)
You probably would’ve passed on the idea if they had pitched it to you. One of my favorite scenes in the film is when food critic Anton Ego takes a bite of Remy’s fine cuisine, and it transforms him back to childhood.
The scene reeks of nostalgia, watch the storyboard to screen, to see how the words were translated.
If you haven’t already read the script for Ratatouille here.
